Feng Shui And Foretelling Mental Disease

Whether we’re referring to personality disorders, mood disorders, or full blown mental diseases, traditional Feng Shui can usually tell when a person might fall to these illnesses based on the manipulative energies of their personal space. While we can’t conclusively prove that negative Feng Shui causes these problems for people, it certainly can exacerbate or trigger a tendency towards a number of mental diseases. Throughout the years, the thing that has amazed me is the fact that Feng Shui can even be this subtle or specific, although in seventeen years in practice, the connections have become more and more evident.

From my experience, there are no classical Feng Shui documents that depict an environment that can generate AIDS. This disease is a modern-day health problem. However, there always have been circumstances that could foretell whether an occupant might suffer from a sexually transmitted disease or from blood-affiliated problems. Most individuals with a superficial interest in Feng Shui are often unaware how predictive or specific it can be.

Also, there are no very old Feng Shui texts that depict the different kinds of personality disorders or mental diseases that torment millions of people. I had to do some deep research and have discovered my own modern version of these aged formulas. For instance, in some Feng Shui classes, we learn that there is a certain type of house wherein we see an occupant who’s completely self-absorbed and extremely vain. Other qualities can include a person who is not close to his family and is likely to suffer from addictive behaviors. The depiction usually ends right there. What I’ve described is merely a sign of narcissistic personality disorder. This doesn’t mean that all narcissists are vain, but it can certainly point in that direction when other factors are taken into consideration.

In addition, there are certain types of houses that combine energies associated with depression and sadness alongside accidents, rebelliousness and anger. This could be easily an environment that triggers or attracts bipolar disorder or at least a person susceptible to more severe mood swings.

There are Feng Shui documents that depict the condition of “insanity” although they do not qualify or explain whether they refer to psychotic behaviors such as schizophrenia. Individuals familiar with these clinical terminologies may know also that people often suffer from overlapping problems. For example, an individual might or might not have obsessive compulsive disorder along with other illnesses such attention deficit disorder. These are the reasons that make mental disease so difficult to determine and treat, due to the wide array of variations in the convoluted human psyche. We can ascertain some of these susceptibilities with Feng Shui and help people dodge house types that would further worsen a predisposition towards these diseases.

As with any other issue described in a Feng Shui analysis, the solutions to enhance the situation is reduced to altering the yin-yang relationship within the space or changing the Qi of the room with organic elements (such as water, earth, fire, wood, or metal). Lastly, there are certain spaces that are best avoided altogether since they cannot be fixed. When a space cannot be fixed, although often difficult, we always have the choice to move.
