Acupuncture for Migraines

Here in the United States, migraine headaches affect more the 30 million Americans each year. The good news is that migraine sufferers do not need to use migraine drugs anymore because more effective and powerful natural migraines cures are available to them.

A growing number of people in the US suffering from migraine seem to benefit greatly from acupuncture treatment.  As the most widely known Chinese form of treatment, acupuncture has been used for more than three thousand years in China. During recent times, with the assistance of modern technology and science, acupuncture has likewise evolved into a medical theory.

A number of sufferers of migraine have had some hesitation when they saw the needles being inserted into the skin and some of them have questioned whether acupuncture is a bona fide medical therapy.

Based on statistics, the number of licensed acupuncturists in the US was well over 30,000 many of them had to study acupuncture from theory to real life practice. In terms of training, at least 1700 hours of study time were needed in order to pass the license exam and obtain the right to practice this form of treatment in their state.

Acupuncturists state that the main thing that their patients need to worry about is not how effective acupuncture for migraine treatment is but rather how well informed they are about their migraine.  Before availing of medical help, you need to know the kind of migraine you have. You then need to inform your acupuncturist about it.  There are several potential factors that can trigger episodes of migraine. These factors can include sudden changes in the weather, irregular eating habits, and hormone imbalance.

Migraine triggers may have different meanings in traditional Chinese medicine. Patients may manifest the same symptoms of migraine; however, the position of the acupuncture needles in the body may be entirely different from one patient to another. The migraine symptoms might be the same but the acupuncture position might be placed differently. This is the reason why most acupuncturists urge their patients to determine what type of migraine they suffer from.
